4-Day-Old Baby Mauled to DEATH in Brutal Attack

Police in Arkansas have reported that a 4-day-old infant was mauled to death by the family’s dog in a brutal attack.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. on December 21, where police and emergency personnel responded to a call regarding a dog attack at a home located in Cave Springs.

After arriving on the scene, police discovered the baby had suffered “severe injuries” from the violent dog attack, prompting them to rush the newborn to a nearby children’s hospital in Springdale.

The baby was then flown to another children’s hospital in Little Rock, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

Police report that the family’s dog had bitten the baby’s head, penetrating the skull.

Cave Springs police Lt. Keith Lawson said, “The dog was seized by the police department and euthanized by a local veterinary service in accordance with state law.”

Authorities revealed that the family dog is a 3-year-old Siberian husky.

KTSM was told by Benton County prosecutor Nathan Smith that, “On Wednesday, Dec. 14, my office was notified by the Cave Springs Police Department that they were investigating the death of a 4-day-old baby girl. Based on the statements of witnesses and the opinions of medical professionals, it was determined that the fatal injuries were inflicted on the child by the family dog.”

Smith continued, “While the investigation is ongoing, at this point, I do not expect that it will result in criminal charges.”

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that over 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs every year in U.S. alone, with over 800,000 requiring medical attention for the bite.
