A Missouri man that went on a killing spree has finally been sent to meet his maker.
Leonard Taylor, 58, was convicted of killing Angela Rowe and her three daughters Alexus Conley, 10; AcQreya Conley, 6; and Tyrese Conley, 5.
Rowe was his girlfriend at the time.
Time to Go
Taylor committed the murders in 2004 and is just now having his sentence imposed.
Honestly, that is the biggest problem that I have with the death penalty.
By the time the sentence is imposed, the punishment has lost its public effect.
Taylor did not seem repentant at all in his “farewell” statement.
He claimed that Muslims do not die but instead “live eternally in the hearts of our family and friends.
“Death is not your enemy, it is your destiny.
“Look forward to meeting it. Peace!”
Taylor claimed that he was innocent, of course, saying he was not even in Missouri when the bodies were discovered.
He did take a flight to California in November 26, 2004, and the bodies were found on December 6, 2004.
Medical Examiner Phillip Burch ruled that the bodies could have been sitting there for weeks, which is why the police focused on Taylor for the murders.
Angela Rowe’s sister, Gerauan Rowe, stated, “I’m at a point in my life right now — I’m OK but I’m not.
“But I know justice was served. It’s kind of hard trying to move forward, but I think I can do it.”
Republican Gov. Mike Parson declined the clemency request, stating, “Despite his self-serving claim of innocence, the facts of his guilt in this gruesome quadruple homicide remain.
“The State of Missouri will carry out Taylor’s sentences according to the Court’s order and deliver justice for the four innocent lives he stole.”
The Supreme Court also declined the request for appeal on Tuesday.
