Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) is continuing his quest to win back voters.
Manchin sided with Joe Biden and Democrats on virtually every position over the last few years.
His false moderate personality has been exposed, and recent polling shows that a seat that was all but automatic for Manchin is now in jeopardy.
So, he has been making a big push against Biden policies.
Protecting West Virginia
Manchin sold everyone on thinking that the Democrats were going to pass legislation that would have helped a new pipeline in West Virginia.
That legislation never even made it to the floor, as his fellow Democrats pushed back.
Basically, Manchin got punked by Joe Biden, and now he is out for revenge.
When Manchin was asked about Joe Biden’s recent comments on the need for fossil fuels, you could almost sense the feeling of betrayal in his response.
He stated, “He knows it’s going to be a lot longer than that.
“He knows that.
“Just to get that out of his mouth was something positive, I think, acknowledging, for at least ten years.
“So — and I’ve got to be careful how they’re trying to enforce the piece of legislation that we worked so hard on, the Inflation Reduction Act, to make sure that the coal communities and the coal opportunities and the coal plants that we have that are producing 24/7 energy in this country, and also, the oil, we need to produce 13-15 million barrels a day.”
I will never trust this man again, and I think he would be well advised to take the same approach with Joe Biden.
