China is a huge threat now, not tomorrow, warn the heads of both the House and Senate intelligence committees. On Sunday, Mike Turner “raised alarms about China’s expanding influence.” He agrees with Mark Warner. Not only are the communists a threat militarily, they’re also really good at espionage.
China has been a threat
According to Republican lawmaker Mike Turner, who serves as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Joe Biden is afraid to stand up to China. He went on ABC news to accuse Joe’s handlers of “being afraid to ‘provoke‘ Beijing.”
That’s pretty much the same thing Democrat Senator Mark Warner told them earlier in the week. Since a Democrat said it, they conclude, it must be true.
Turner confirmed their fears. “I think what we heard clearly from the intelligence community is the emergence of China as a threat, both militarily and through espionage.” Turner pointed out that for once, we’re on the same page.

As “the senator was just saying, through technology, quantum technology computing, also certainly the ability for them to insert themselves through TikTok into our data systems.”
The way Turner sees the situation, Joe Biden and Antony Blinken are “making the same mistake with China” that they made “with Russia during the early months of the Ukraine invasion.” Joe doesn’t care about much other than what flavor ice cream he has in his dish and Blinky can’t seem to understand diplomatic rhetoric.
“They’ve been much too timid in their approach to Russia — having been pushed by Congress before they would fully support Ukraine.” For some unknown reason, they’re afraid of the Pooh Bear. That might have something to do with the Biden family business dealings but the congressman didn’t go there.

A military threat
All the espionage that China has been doing on us for years is now being applied as Beijing started seriously “building up its military, multiplying the number of nuclear weapons aimed at the US and enlarging its shipbuilding capacity.”
It’s not hard to read the writing on the wall. “They’re absolutely emerging as a military threat to the United States.” Turner thinks “we need to respond, and respond very strongly.”
Liberals over at ABC tend to take his word for it because Democrat Senator Mark Warner told them exactly the same things. Warner sits over the Senate Intelligence Committee. When they sat him down in front of the cameras he noted, “we’re in enormous competition with China.” National security, he advised, “is not simply about guns and ships and tanks anymore. It is about technology competition.”
We have never had a potential adversary like China. So this week, I’m introducing bipartisan legislation to protect our national security against a wide range of foreign tech threats. pic.twitter.com/dw75yme4wK

Since all our microchips come from Taiwan, “it’s about who’s going to win the struggle around artificial intelligence, quantum computing, synthetic biology.” Like the designer genes in COVID. Not only did we pay for the gain of function research, a breaking bulletin claims we were double billed for it.
TikTok, Warner explained, is a whole lot more dangerous than anyone really imagines. He’s on a bipartisan committee that gives the administration “wide powers to regulate or even ban TikTok.” He’s “absolutely” convinced the platform should be outlawed.
“Literally 100 million Americans are on TikTok an average of 90 minutes a day. That data is residing in China no matter what TikTok says, and the truth is TikTok can be used as a propaganda mechanism for the Communist Party of China.” If that’s not a national security issue, Warner doesn’t know what is.
