On February 3, Senator Chuck Schumer told everyone “Nobody is taking away your gas stoves.”
That aged for exactly three months.
New York just passed a law banning the use of some gas stoves in smaller homes by 2026, with larger homes having the same fate by 2029.

Now I realize Chuckie is not a State Senator, but one would still think that since he represents New York, he would be tapped into what was going on at the state level.
That was clearly not the case.
Remember when the GOP was making a big deal about the banning of gas stoves at the federal level?
Well, Schumer responded, “Nobody is taking away your gas stove.
“Shameless and desperate MAGA Republicans are showing us they will cook up any distraction to divert from real issues the American people want solved, like the debt ceiling.”
Apparently, it was not a distraction at all.
Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI) responded, “How many things can [Schumer] get wrong in one tweet?
“NY has moved to ban gas stoves in new builds.
“Meanwhile the [House GOP] has passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act to raise the debt ceiling, rein in spending, protect Social Security, and preserve VA funding. What a #SchumerSpecial.”
Republicans are trying to push through legislation in the House that would protect the use of gas stoves, but it would still have to get through the Senate, which is not likely.
