Senator Whitehouse (D-RI) was trying to push an expert witness brought in by the GOP into a corner.
The witness, the Heritage Foundation’s Diana Furchtgott-Roth, was up for the challenge, however.
Just as Whitehouse thought he had her set up for the kill, she dropped a vicious attack on the Rhode Island Democrat.
Boom!
Whitehouse was questioning Furchtgott-Roth, who is a well-respected economist, on the funding behind the Heritage Foundation.
She responded, “And The Heritage Foundation is a club that anyone can join, not just White people.
“During 2021, it had hundreds of thousands of individual, foundation and corporate supporters representing every state in the United States.”
That dig about “not just White people,” was in reference to Whitehouse’s membership to an all-white beach club.
Whitehouse’s membership at the club came up when he was first running for office in 2006.
His family has been a member of the club for decades, but he disavowed the club publicly and vowed to end his membership, only he never did.
Not only did he not quit, but his wife, Sandra, remains among the top shareholders of the club.
I love this line of questioning because Democrats act as though their think tanks are not lined with money from climate change organizations.
This entire system is corrupt and broken, but today’s media only allows Americans to see one side of it.
