Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has once again proven why he has been labeled a “Republican In Name Only” (RINO), this time declaring the growing “America First” movement within the Republican Party to be “nonsense.”
America First has become a slogan of former President Donald Trump and his conservative allies, especially his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH). The movement has grown within the Republican Party, as many are tired of the U.S. government using taxpayer dollars to prop up foreign countries and fund foreign wars — all while racking up the national debt and leaving many Americans struggling.
However, establishment Republicans have tried desperately to squash this movement, as it threatens their globalist mentality and harms the military industrial complex. The battle has raged on within the party for some time now, even before Trump became president, with Mitch McConnell being one of the main aggressors against the movement — as Breitbart News confirmed, noting that “McConnell has long tried to eliminate the ‘isolationist’ wing’s increasing influence over the Republican Party.”
In his latest attack on “America First,” McConnell avoided mentioning Trump or Vance by name, but still attacked the movement’s foreign policy doctrine as “nonsense.”
“I mean, even the slogans are what they were in the 30s — ‘America First,’” the Senate Minority Leader added, according to Breitbart News.
McConnell’s main policy position is still foreign war, as he is a major supporter of forcing Americans to fund Ukraine’s never-ending war with Russia — even falsely claiming in December 2022 that “providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans.”

The aging senator was even seen on the floor of the Senate wearing a Ukrainian flag tie, which led many to declare him a proponent of “America Last” philosophy.

Despite strongly supporting the proxy war in Ukraine, McConnell even admitted during a July interview that he is unsure what actual victory in that war would look like — even though he spent more than $175 billion in taxpayer dollars on aid to the corrupt country, which could have been spent helping Americans.
“[The Ukrainians] know they need to have some signs of success here, which will reassure the democratic countries that they can win,” McConnell claimed without evidence.
Meanwhile, McConnell was booed at the Republican National Convention in July over his America Last stance — showing that, despite his best efforts, the “America First” movement is taking over the party.
