The words of Vice President Kamala Harris last week, speaking at a pro-abortion event in Des Moines, Iowa, revealed an unfortunate truth about the Biden administration’s economic policies.
And it’s one that Republicans should take note of as they prepare for 2024.
During her extended rant about the supposed economic challenges faced by women seeking abortions, VP Harris stated the fact that most households would have difficulty handling an unexpected expense of even $400.
“Most Americans are a $400 unexpected expense away from bankruptcy,” she said.
This statement clearly indicated that after more than two years of President Joe Biden in office, citizens of the world’s most prosperous country aren’t very prosperous at all – and with no sign that this will change anytime soon under Bidenomics.
It quickly became clear to those who heard her remarks that despite her protestations to the contrary, VP Harris had made a bigger point without meaning to – and it didn’t look good for her own administration.
As Senator Tim Scott pointed out on social media: “Yeah, that’s called Bidenomics and it’s a problem.”

Even though she was exaggerating when making these claims, it was undeniable that American incomes have not kept up with soaring prices during the current administration – something that has been disastrous for many people across our nation.
After noticing VP Harris’ admission regarding how poorly Americans are faring under Bidenomics policies, Republicans should realize what this could mean heading into 2024 elections – namely, the opportunity to run on their own economic strategies instead.
During his presidency Donald Trump achieved impressive results with low unemployment rates and rising stock markets.
Meanwhile Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has done well leading his state through successful COVID management while other Democratic states have lagged behind in terms of restrictions put in place and their respective economies have suffered accordingly.
Any Republican candidate running against Joe Biden or another Democrat would do better than them simply by using time-tested GOP strategies.
