Well, Russia is unleashing some heavy attacks against Ukraine again.
And, once again, it is something that could dramatically impact our economy here and around the world.
A Russian drone reportedly hit a Ukraine port, which could create significant problems for wheat exports.
Here We Go Again
I don’t know if you have noticed, but gasoline prices are starting to tick back up again.
We may start to see grain products increase soon as well after this attack by Russia on Ukraine.
To this point, Russia had agreed to leave the Odessa port alone to ensure grain was shipped worldwide.
That deal now appears to be over.
For the last two weeks, the port has been getting hammered by Russia, and the latest pictures are not good.
Ukrainian President Zelensky stated, “Russian terrorists have once again targeted ports, grain facilities and global food security.
“The world must respond.”
Ukraine’s South operational command added, “The goal of the enemy was clearly the facilities of the ports and industrial infrastructure of the region.”
According to the report, 40,000 metric tons of grain, which was due to be shipped to Africa, China, and Israel, was damaged in the attack.
Along with the port damage, Ukraine also released numbers regarding civilian injuries and casualties.
So far, at least 10,700 civilians have been killed and more than 15,000 have been wounded.
One Ukraine official stated, “We understand that these numbers are the tip of the iceberg.
“Once we de-occupy our lands, the numbers will grow many times, possibly tens of times. I think in Mariupol alone there will be tens of thousands of deaths.”
