Fox News makes more cuts to its lineup while ratings plummet. This latest shocking announcement was revealed on Twitter. Geraldo Rivera, a longtime co-host of Fox News show “The Five,” has announced his departure. The show has been the network’s top-performing show relative to other networks in its time slot.

Rivera is a known left-leaning personality and former journalist. In his own words, he has served as the “odd man out” on the show. He has recently announced that his final appearances on the show will come at the end of June.

“Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday, June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being the odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large,” Rivera tweeted.

However, if you have been paying attention this announcement may not be such a surprise after all. Back in May Rivera posted a cryptic tweet suggesting his time at Fox may soon be over.

“My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled,” Rivera tweeted. “I’m sure there’s a good reason. Never fear, I’ll be back the week after next. Stay safe and happy. Thanks.”

Rivera has pushed the buttons of the right-wing audience of Fox throughout his tenure, which began in 2001 when he joined Fox as a war correspondent.

His departure comes in the wake of the Tucker firing which has caused the network’s lowest ratings in years.

Since Tucker’s departure, Fox has struggled to maintain their normal ratings which they have dominance it held for nearly a decade. Now, the network is losing the rating war to left-wing rival MNSBC.

The data shows that Fox’s primetime viewership averaged 1,504,429, while MSNBC’s viewership over the same time frame averaged 1,520,857. Although it is a narrow margin, the numbers still have been able to tip the scales in favor of the left-leaning MSNBC.
