Chicago crime skyrockets over Halloween as multiple shootings leave numerous dead across the city. One incident was a drive-by that left 13 dead in its wake. Three of the victims were small children, one of which was only three years old.
Thankfully, no deaths were reported with this specific shooting. However, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said at a news conference today that some of the victims have been left in critical condition.

Chicago Law enforcement claim that the violent attack was partially captured on surveillance video. The drive-by happened at the intersection of California Avenue and Polk Street, around 9:30 p.m.
“We know it’s a drive-by. We know it happens in just a few seconds,” Brown said at the press Conference. “It begins and then it’s over, about three seconds the car is pulling out after driving by and shooting randomly, really, into the crowd.”

Brown explained that at the time of the attack a vigil was being held at the corner. However, since it was Halloween night there could have been other reasons for some of the people to be gathered there.
The Chicago Police Superintendent continued to explain that a motive was unknown. Also that no offender has been identified yet. However, there could be two shooters, Brown explained. He stressed the information is preliminary and that Detectives would be conducting interviews with those present at the time.
