During a concert over the weekend, country music star Brantley Gilbert had to run off stage for an “emergency” — where he delivered his third child in his own tour bus.
While performing a show for his Off The Rails Tour in Tupelo, Mississippi, Gilbert was called off stage and was simply told there was an “emergency backstage.”
Although the crowd was not initially told what the emergency was, Gilbert soon discovered that his wife was about to give birth to their third child.
When he returned to the stage, the 39-year-old country music star filled them in — informing the audience that he had gotten back to his tour bus just in time to help deliver his baby boy.
“We got a baby,” Gilbert excitedly told the crowd, prompting cheers and celebration for the news of the arrival of his baby boy.
Gilbert later shared an emotional video on Instagram about the delivery, which he captioned: “We’ve got a new addition to the Gilbert Family… God is good.”
“So, last night might have been the craziest night of my life. Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget,” he wrote.
“Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi, for showing us mad love and support,” Gilbert continued.
“And most of all … Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you,” he added, labeling his wife “a freaking savage.”
The video was later shared to X:

Gilbert and his wife also appeared on Fox News on Monday to discuss the happy news, where he joked that “I can’t say this was on my bingo card. It was kind of crazy.”
He went on to explain that the couple had a midwife with them in preparation for any surprises, but they thought they still had a week left before the baby was due. Amber explained to Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany that the birth happened faster than expected.
“I went from reading a book in the bed to calling the midwife in a matter of minutes,” the singer’s wife said. “So, I was just ready to get my show … on the road.”
