In spite of the best efforts of Speaker Nancy “Street Fighter” Pelosi (D-CA), the cracks in her party are beginning to show. The Democrat Civil war is looming as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) cranks up the pressure on the Dem-Socialists to go on record, officially supporting or condemning Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for her staggering and repeated anti-Semitic screeds on social media.
Yes. If the Democrat Majority wants to go down this road, they should start by dealing with their own members who have been at this before and AFTER their election to Congress. https://t.co/YIRhoNOf8L pic.twitter.com/r0yBN2aGFx

House Republican leaders are pressing forward with a motion to remove Rep. Omar from the House Foreign Affairs Committee following her most recent insult to Israel, easily America’s most valuable, steadfast, and long-term ally in the Middle East. Initially, Pelosi and most House Democrats refused to go on record to condemn Omar, seemingly fearful of retribution from “The Squad”.
Pelosi even avoided condemnation at first saying that Omar had “clarified” her statements, when as The Guardian reports she said “she was not making “a moral comparison between Hamas and the Taliban and the US and Israel” and was “in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries”.
According to The Daily Wire,
“Democrats appear to be concerned, however, with policing internal conflict instead. After “clarifying” her remarks about Israel, the United States, and “terrorist” activities, Omar lashed out at Jewish Democrats who broke with party leadership and condemned her remarks, and members of the “Squad” quickly followed suit.”
“Omar accused her colleagues of “harassment” and “Islamophobia.” Ocasio-Cortez accused the group of “constant vilification, intentional mischaracterization, and public targeting of @IlhanMN” and Tlaib tweeted that “Freedom of speech doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. The benefit of the doubt doesn’t exist for Muslim women in Congress. House Democratic leadership should be ashamed of its relentless, exclusive tone policing of Congresswomen of color.”
This seems to be where Omar and her squadmates stepped over the line. Pelosi responded with House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer in a joint statement with other Democrat leaders, “Drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the US and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all,”
What Did Omar Say To Spark This Dem Civil War?
Omar made headlines and drew, near-universal condemnation from conservatives and Jewish Democrats alike when in an instance of jaw-dropping false equivalence she placed Israel and even the United States on equal moral standing with terrorist groups, Hamas, the Taliban, and the former Government of Afghanistan. She tweeted,
“We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.”
According to The GOP Times, “She later backpedaled frantically offering that she was just referencing cases before the International Criminal Court while in conversation with Biden-Harris regime Secretary of State Antony Blinken, but she couldn’t when pressed provide ANY specific examples of American or Israeli “atrocities” and “crimes against humanity.”
The reckoning may be coming swiftly for the House Democrats though as Minority Leader McCarthy supported by Representatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Brian Babin (R-TX) are determined to make Omar face the music and her fellow Democrats go on record. The Minority Leaders’ “privileged motion” will require them to officially condemn or condone Omar’s unrestrained hatred of the Israeli and American nations and people. The divide amongst the Democrats may be quiet, it may be behind closed doors but know: it will be nothing close to “civil”.
