A New York Democrat has decided to call it quits.
Rep. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.) will be vacating his seat in February.
Higgins is in his 10th term, but he will not see an 11th.
Chaos
Democrats are clearly just as frustrated as Republicans with what is happening in the House right now.
While Republicans do not seem to be able to get on the same page, Democrats are facing just as many problems with the Squad over Israel.
Higgins stated, “I’ve always been a little impatient, and that trait has helped us deliver remarkable progress for this community.
“But the pace in Washington, D.C. can be slow and frustrating, especially this year.
“Therefore, after thoughtful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to leave Congress and explore other ways I can build up and serve Buffalo and Western New York.”
He later added, “Congress is not the institution that I went to 19 years ago.
“It’s a very different place today.
“We’re spending more time doing less. And the American people aren’t being served.”
This is not a seat that Republicans can win, but it is proof that all is not well on the other side of the aisle.
His comments are also reinforcement of why Congress now has an approval rating of less than 20 percent.
