Democrats Claim A 10-Person Thanksgiving Meal Costs $58

Democrats Decide to Make Absolutely BS Claim for the Holiday

Democrats are getting roasted on social media for trying to claim that a “Thanksgiving dinner is historically affordable” in the Biden-Harris economy, lying that a holiday meal for 10 would only cost $58.

An article published by NBC claimed that “Thanksgiving dinner is historically affordable this year under Bidenflation, suggesting that a meal for 10 people would cost just $58.08.

This ridiculous estimate came from a survey conducted by the American Farm Bureau Federation, which only has a limited number of items on it that is clearly not enough for a Thanksgiving meal, let alone to feed 10 people.

The survey, which has been conducted since 1984, asks volunteer shoppers in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico to search stores for these items: “Turkey, cubed stuffing, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, frozen peas, fresh cranberries, celery, carrots, pumpkin pie mix and crusts, whipping cream, and whole milk.”

Of course, anyone who has ever made a Thanksgiving dinner knows that this list is missing quite a few items, including potatoes, gravy, and all of the ingredients necessary to turn the list of items into actual edible dishes. A meal isn’t just the basics, it involves items like butter and seasonings — as well as drinks like beer, wine, soda, and more. Plus, Thanksgiving is one of the holidays most well-known for overconsumption… Who doesn’t eat much more than they should on Thanksgiving?

Social media users were quick to highlight the discrepancies and ridiculous math used to make this wild claim.

“Excuse me ??? Clearly you haven’t went grocery shopping. For our 10 person thanksgiving our cost was $250. You’re insane if you think working class families believe this,” one user wrote.

“Dude. Come ON. No mashed potatoes? No gravy? No marshmallows for the sweet potatoes, much less butter? ONE can of cranberry sauce for TEN people? One roll each? There are gonna be a lot of hangry men at your meal,” another user wrote.

Another user pointed out that despite the claim that a Thanksgiving for 10 would cost $58.08, the photo for article clearly shows a much more expensive meal.

The user quoted the article, then wrote: “Posts picture of $500 feast.”
