Some of the top Democrats in the party and not very happy with Joe Biden.
The administration just made a major land grab in the name of climate change.
It will take millions of acres of mineral and oil-rich land off the market for mining and drilling.
Along with the Republicans, some very high-profile Democrats are saying enough.
Take the Land
It was announced this week that the Department of the Interior (DOI) will be closing off significant land in Alaska from drilling.
A total of 13 million acres of the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR) is now being protected.
Additionally, 2.8 million acres in the Beaufort Sea off the northern coast of Alaska are now closed off to drilling.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) stated, “I can’t explain to the American people why we would willingly become more dependent on foreign oil imports, eliminate good-paying American jobs and drive up the cost of our electric bills and gas prices across the country.
“This is yet another example of this administration caving to the radical left with no regard for clear direction from Congress or American energy security.”
Rep. Mary Peltola (D-AK) added, “I am deeply frustrated by the reversal of these leases in ANWR.
“I will continue to advocate for them and for Alaska’s ability to explore and develop our natural resources, from the critical minerals we need for our clean energy transition to the domestic oil and gas we need to get us there.”
Needless to say, all local Republicans went off as well, as this is dramatically impacting Alaska’s ability to generate income.
But then again, Republicans like Senator Murkowski (R-AK) are the reason that Joe Biden is in office right now.
