Tech billionaire Elon Musk has highlighted some disturbing data that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) uncovered about Social Security fraud, revealing that there are millions of people listed as being over 130 years old in the database, including some over the insanely impossible age of 200.
In a post on X, Musk shared a chart with age brackets of individuals listed in the Social Security database going all the way up to 369 years old.
“Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!” he wrote.
The shocking chart showed that there were 4.7 million people in the 100-109 age bracket, 3.6 million in the 110-119 age bracket, 3.4 million in the 120-129 age bracket, 3.9 million in the 130-139 age bracket, 3.4 million in the 140-149 age bracket, and 1.3 million in the 150-159 age bracket. In reality, according to Pew Research data, there are only around 101,000 people 100 years old or older in the U.S. as of 2024.
However, it only gets more implausible from there, as the ages continue to rise, though the numbers start to dwindle. For example, there are 1,039 people listed in the 220-229 age bracket, and there is even one person listed in the 360-369 age bracket.
“Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security,” Musk joked, referring to the popular book and movie series about immortal vampires.

One user responded to the chart by highlighting the discrepancy between the total number of people on the chart and the actual population of the United States, asking: “394,943,364 but total population is 334M?”
Musk responded to that question, confirming: “Yes, there are FAR more ‘eligible’ social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history.”

This news comes after Musk had already been highlighting concerns about the Social Security database.
“So, crazy things like just cursory examination of Social Security and we’ve got people in there that are 150 years old. Now, do you know anyone who’s 150? I don’t, OK. They should be on the Guinness Book of World Records, they’re missing out,” he said on February 11.
“So, that’s a case where I think they’re probably dead, is my guess, or they should be very famous — one of the two. And then there’s a whole bunch of Social Security payments where there’s no identifying information,” Musk added.
