Senator Ted Cruz, the well-known Texas Republican is reportedly “furious” with the Department of Justice at the handling of former Trump White House Strategic advisor Steve Bannon’s contempt of Congress charges.

Cruz said on Tuesday, Oct. 25 that Attorney General Merrick Garland should be impeached for the weaponization of the Department of Justice. He asserted that the DOJ has been turned on the political rivals of President Joe Biden and Republicans at large.

“I am furious because Merrick Garland has presided over a Department of Justice that now consists of simply being a partisan weapon to attack the political opponents of Joe Biden and the Democrats,” Cruz said during “Verdict with Ted Cruz.”

“Merrick Garland should be ashamed. He should resign in disgrace, and if he doesn’t, he should be impeached and removed from office,” he added.

The Senator pointed out that Bannon was sentenced for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the illegitimate House January 6th Commission.
He noted particularly that both former Attorney General for President Barack Obama, Eric Holder did the exact same thing following the revelations of Operations: Fast and Furious, but never saw a moment of jail time.
Cruz noted that the House committee, empaneled by Speaker Nancy Pelosi in direct contradiction of House precedent given she refused members nominated by GOP leadership, is nothing more than a “partisan” body.

“She didn’t want Republicans that would actually oppose the Democrats’ partisan agenda,” Cruz said. “She vetoed the Republican [choices]. That was unprecedented. She doesn’t get to do that.”

He added that Bannon refused to testify and AG Garland “stepped forward to prosecute him,” pointing out the brazen “double standard.”

“The more lawless, the more politicized DOJ gets, the more compelling it becomes to impeach Garland,” Cruz told his podcast in August.

According to Newsmax, Republican Congressman Scott Perry, introduced a bill in the House a year ago to impeach Garland, setting out the “high crimes and misdemeanors” he committed at the time.

The resolution also pointed to Garland’s politicization of the DOJ and the Biden regime’s use of the Department as a cudgel to attack political opponents to “punish” them.
