Lynne Patton, a former Trump appointee to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, earlier an Executive in the Trump organization, has been barred from public office for four years and pay a $1,000 fine under the Hatch Act. The Washington Times reports that Patton has been singled out due to a video she created for presentation at the RNC in a blatant double standard. The Times reported,
“Ms. Patton had lived in New York City Housing Authority property for a month in 2019 as part of fact-finding for her job. A year later she “leveraged” her relationships with residents she met to get them to appear in a video played during the Republican National Convention, touting improvements in quality of life during the Trump administration, the OSC said.”
“By using information and NYCHA connections available to her solely by virtue of her HUD position, Patton improperly harnessed the authority of her federal position to assist the Trump campaign in violation of the Hatch Act,” the OSC said.
According to Gateway Pundit, it is notable that no less than six of President Obama’s cabinet members spoke and presentations in a similar capacity during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, none have been charged with violation of the hatch act. Ms. Patton also is not the first former Trump official to face scrutiny as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was accused of using US Federal Government resources to deliver a video streamed address to the RNC from Israel where he was on State Department business at the time.
Lynn Patton used her time in the spotlight this week to to highlight her experiences and the major accomplishments made by the HUD under the Trump administration and HUD Secretary Ben Carson.
Let’s see if the biased media (like the @nytimes & @washingtonpost) have the GUTS to do an ACTUAL story on the REAL accomplishments made at @NYCHA under President Trump & @RealBenCarson. But they won’t. Sadly, FACTS don’t sell papers. Why? Because Dems don’t actually care. 🎯 pic.twitter.com/4n0fq66qrH

The Double Standard Applied: Cracks In The Story Emerge
Since the story about Mr. Patton’s debarment broke Breitbart has reported that emails have emerged from CNN that debunk earlier claims by the New York Times that the New York residents depicted in Patton’s video were deceived about it and not informed it was intended for the RNC.
According to Breitbart,
“Sheena Jones, a newsdesk editor for CNN, wrote Patton, “I have spoken to Carmen Quiñones, Manuel Martinez and Claudia Perez, they told me they knew the video was going to be used for the RNC.”
Breitbart News confirmed the authenticity of Jones’s email, which some critics have accused Patton of fabricating.
The Trump campaign obtained verbal approval from the four participants.
“All interview subjects were fully aware of the purpose of the interviews and gave verbal consent on video camera,” campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh told Breitbart News.”
The double standard is staggering, the New York Times article is debunked and the ideological witch hunt is revealed.
