FBI Director Wray Finally Acknowledges Serious China Threat

FBI Director Wray Finally Fesses Up

After the Biden administration spent years desperately claiming that Russia was the true threat, FBI Director Christopher Wray has finally admitted the truth on his way out of office: communist China is the most significant threat facing the United States.

Just a few days before President-elect Donald Trump takes office and Wray will be forced to step down from his position, Wray appeared for an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes” that aired on January 12. During that interview, Wray warned the incoming Trump administration and his likely successor, Trump nominee Kash Patel, that communist China is the “greatest long-term threat” to the U.S.

“The greatest long-term threat facing our country, in my view, is represented by the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese government, which I consider to be the defining threat of our generation,” the outgoing FBI director said.

The CBS News host then asked Wray about China’s recent hack of U.S. cyber and infrastructure.

Wray responded by highlighting the fact that communist China’s hacking program is “far and away the world’s largest — bigger than that of every major nation combined and has stolen more of Americans’ personal and corporate data than that of every nation, big or small, combined.”

“But even beyond the cyber theft, there’s another part of the Chinese cyber threat that I think has not gotten the attention publicly that it I think desperately deserves,” he added. “And that is Chinese government’s pre-positioning on American civilian critical infrastructure. To lie in wait on those networks to be in a position to wreak havoc and can inflict real-world harm at a time and place of their choosing.”

Wray concluded the discussion by pointing out that China has used malware to hack the electric grid, water treatment plants, transportation systems, telecommunications systems, and natural gas pipelines.

Of course, all of these actions were effectively swept under the rug by the Biden administration, as China has faced no actual consequences for their attacks or espionage under President Joe Biden’s failed leadership. Instead, the Biden administration spent the last four years ignoring the China problem and screaming that the biggest threats to the U.S. were Russia, white supremacy, and Trump.
