Former Clinton Adviser Demands Investigation Into ABC Debate Bias

Former Clinton Adviser Demands Investigation

A former top adviser to both former President Bill Clinton and failed Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton has demanded ABC launch an internal investigation into the clearly biased debate.

On Thursday, former Clinton adviser Mark Penn called on ABC to launch a formal internal investigation into the planning and executing of the debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris — arguing that there may have been an effort at “rigging the outcome of this debate.”

Whether there was actual pre-planning to rig the debate or not, it was clear to any rational observer that the debate was rigged. Both ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis were objectively biased in favor of Harris, refusing to fact-check her, giving her softball questions, and not pushing for follow-ups when she dodged those questions. At the same time, they repeatedly “fact-checked” Trump — many of those fact-checks were actually incorrect — and asked him several biased questions designed to make him look bad.

Penn, the chairman of the Harvard CAPS Harris Poll, called ABC out for these egregious actions during an appearance on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast on Thursday.

“I actually think they should do a full internal investigation, hire an outside law firm. I don’t know how much of this was planned in advance,” the former Clinton adviser stated.

“I don’t know what they told the Harris campaign. I think the day after, suspicion here is really quite high, and I think a review of all their internal texts and emails really should be done by an independent party to find out to what extent they were planning on, in effect, you know, fact-checking just one candidate and in effect, rigging the outcome of this debate. I think the situation demands nothing less than that,” Penn added.

He went on to deem the mainstream media’s coverage of Harris as laughable.

“It’s a 50-50, race. He’s [Trump] got more obvious tools to get across the finish line than she does and part of the thing here is that if the referees have their finger on the scale, it’s harder to, you know, break through and overcome. And certainly, general media coverage has been fairly laughable,” he said.

These comments came after a bombshell Media Research Center study showed that ABC News, specifically Muir’s show, has given Harris a whopping 100% positive coverage since she launched her presidential campaign. At the same time, he gave Trump 93% negative coverage.

Penn is not the only Democrat to call ABC out for bias at the debate. In a Fox News editorial, Doug Schoen, a former advisor to both Bill Clinton and former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg (D), argued that Harris “was aided and abetted by two ABC News moderators who seemingly felt the need to fact-check virtually everything the former president said.”
