Noncitizens

Here it Comes: Cities Beginning to Allow NONCitizens to Vote in Our Elections

The Vermont Republican Party and The Republican National Committee under Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel have opened lawsuits against the cities of Montpelier, the state’s Capitol, and Winooski, VT about their new charters recently approved by the Vermont Senate. The new charters in both cities allow noncitizens to vote in municipal elections, essentially disenfranchising one citizen for each noncitizen. The RNC wrote, ” This radical scheme passed by Vermont Democrats, to allow foreign citizens to decide American elections is a blatant attack on election integrity and violates the state constitution which requires Vermont voters to be U.S. citizens.”

In a Statement Chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel said,

“Democrats are trying to dismantle the integrity of our elections. In addition to attacking widely supported safeguards like voter ID, Democrats also want foreign citizens to vote in American elections. Republicans are fighting back on this far-left assault against election integrity — unlike radical Democrats, we believe that our elections should be decided solely by American citizens. This is a matter of principle and we will fight in all 50 states to ensure this remains the case.”

According to Newsmax, “Winooski, with a 2010 population of little more than 7,000, has one of the highest concentrations of new Americans and immigrants in Vermont

“I believe if someone wishes to be able to vote they should be a citizen,” Vermont state Sen. Brian Collamore told Fox News in May.

“The Montpelier bill allows what is defined as a legal resident of the United States to be able to vote in city elections. … If someone is here on a permanent basis, why would he or she not want to participate in the process to become a citizen?”

The Case Of A Citizenship Requirement To Vote MUST Be Settled

Noncitizens Do Not Have The Right To Change Our Government

The fact that such a sentence needs to be said or written is a terrifying sign of our times. San Francisco and other California cities took the step toward unconstitutional anarchy in 2018 when they chose to allow non-citizens to vote. Coming from the party that cried ‘Russian Interference’ for four years this would be funny if it weren’t so brazen and terrifying. The ability of foreign nationals to wield political power AT ANY LEVEL in the United States completely subverts the concept of sovereignty. Our cities are some of the most influential political units in the country and this would create a situation where Americans are no longer in control of their own city streets. This has yet to be adjudicated in the United States Supreme Court, but it must be now. Only American citizens have a right to determine the future of the United States of America.
