U.S. taxpayer funding of research at the nefarious Wuhan Institute of Virology is about to go under a scanning electron microscope in Congress. Two powerful House conservatives, James Comer and Brad Wenstrup, are demanding real answers, for a change. They have a solid Constitution-based plan to get them, too.
Wuhan funding furor
There are heavy rumors that Uncle Sam paid for the gain of function research in Wuhan, which produced COVID’s designer genes. If not “gain of function” specifically, we sure paid for something.
Ohio lawmaker James Comer chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and actually takes that job seriously. So does Kentucky Congressman Brad Wenstrup, who serves as chairman of the newly formed Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. They want to get to the bottom of it.
When your liberal co-workers hear the words Wuhan and House oversight in the same sentence and start laughing, you can laugh right back. They’re sure to be reminding you of the utter futility of such nonsense, with Merrick Garland running the country. “Ha!,” you can reply. These watchdogs have teeth. They’re tired of asking nicely so they’re going nuclear. At least, they say and act like they are.

The game is expected to go like this. Issue subpoenas. When they’re ignored, file suit in the United States Supreme Court to have them enforced. After they’re enforced by a conservative leaning SCOUTUS, file contempt of Congress charges against the offenders. Then, have them hauled off to jail. It really has a chance of working. Tinfoil hat types half-joke that the Deep State could be forced to do something like nuke Yellowstone to prevent it.
Comer and Wenstrup have politely requested that the exalted Dr. Anthony Fauci and his buddy Dr. Peter Daszak hand over the actual records documenting COVID origins. Who did what, when, why and who paid for it. Daszak is president of EcoHealth Alliance.
They asked nicely before and were told to go away, because they had no real authority. That situation changed with this past election. Wuhan is in the center of their cross-hairs now. “The American people deserve real answers after years of suffering through the Coronavirus pandemic and related government policies,” the lawmakers announced in a press release.
Predict, prepare or prevent
Their Wuhan funding investigation has a legitimate legislative purpose, they “pre-bunk,” in advance of expected criticism. It’s not a politically motivated criminal probe into wrongdoing, though it might find some. “This investigation must begin with where and how this virus came about so that we can attempt to predict, prepare or prevent it from happening again.”
They’re absolutely right. Nothing is more important than the Truth behind what happened. Fauci picked up the nickname “Doctor Deep State” for good reasons.
“Government scientists and government funded researchers have so far been less-than-forthcoming in their knowledge and actions, including work with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and potential pandemic pathogens.” They’ve had enough of the partisan game of hide the ball. “We can’t accept more years of stonewalling.”

Without spelling out their explosive plans to break the logjam loose, they warn they aren’t playing, this time. “The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic is committed to conducting a proper investigation that the American people have demanded.”
“Evidence continues to mount pointing to the virus leaking from an unsecure lab in Wuhan. We know EcoHealth Alliance acted as a middleman, improperly funneling thousands of taxpayer dollars to the Wuhan lab to conduct risky gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses which could have started the pandemic.”
Not only that, “Dr. Fauci was alerted early on that COVID-19 had markings of a manipulated virus yet may have chosen to cover it up instead of blowing the whistle.” Stay tuned. This story has all the earmarks of an impending cage match.
