Israel Gives Hamas Leader A Shocking Offer

On Tuesday, Israel proposed a shocking offer for the leader of the Hamas terrorist group — the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will allow him to leave Gaza safely in exchange for the release of all of the remaining hostages kidnapped from Israel during the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

The offer came as part of Israel’s continuing negotiations with Hamas for the safe release of hostages, though Hamas has refused to agree to any of the deals proposed, while Israel has made many offers. Israel has thus far had a very strong response to the October 7 attacks — which left more than 1,200 Israelis dead, thousands more injured, and hundreds kidnapped by the terrorists — sending IDF soldiers and precision strikes into Gaza as part of an effort to eliminate Hamas terrorists from Gaza.

Gal Hirsch, the Israeli official in charge of hostage negotiations, publicly revealed the offer during an interview with Bloomberg News on Tuesday.

The senior official told the outlet that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar would be given safe passage out of Gaza in exchange for the terrorist group freeing all the hostages. Hamas, which is in control of the Gaza government, would also have to give up control of the Gaza strip as part of this deal.

“I’m ready to provide safe passage to Sinwar, his family, whoever wants to join him,” Hirsch said during the interview at the Bloomberg News Washington bureau. “We want the hostages back. We want demilitarization, de-radicalization of course — a new system that will manage Gaza.”

Sinwar, who reportedly planned the October 7 terrorist attacks, became the leader of Hamas last month after former Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a strike in Tehran, Iran. After taking over Hamas, Sinwar immediately went into hiding.

The offer comes despite Israel’s previous vow that all Hamas leaders who took part in the October 7 attack or the planning of the attack would be killed.

It is unclear whether Sinwar will agree to this deal, though Breitbart News’ Joel B. Pollak asserted in a article about the story that “an offer that allows Hamas leaders to live in exchange for the hostages is the only possible offer, though it presupposes that Hamas leaders feel the Israeli military is an imminent threat to them.”
