The Donald Trump fraud trial has had a lot of surprises over the last few days.
Don Jr. and Eric Trump testified last week.
Donald Trump took the stand this week, jousting with the judge and prosecutors the entire time.
Then, on Wednesday, Ivanka took the stand.
Not What They Thought
If they were hoping to get Ivanka Trump to roll over on her father, they were quite disappointed.
Like the boys, Ivanka stated she has no real knowledge of the financials of the company.
While it was clear she passed some financial statements to lenders, she stated that she merely had a “granular” knowledge of the financials.
Considering her role was in acquisitions and mergers, I am not sure if the court believed her, but she held firm.
She actually got prosecutors to meltdown by answering that she had “no recollection” when asked key financial questions.
Prosecutor Louis Solomon lost it at one point, stating, “She just spent three minutes describing the Plaza Hotel, how it’s similar to this!
“But she has no recollection when I ask her a question?”
Unlike her brothers and father, Ivanka was pretty straightforward, not going into any long rants against the court while testifying.
In terms of the “gotcha” Letitia James was hoping to get with her testimony, she scored a big goose egg.
