During a Tuesday interview, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) discussed a congressional probe that has confirmed that the Biden-Harris administration had targeted tech billionaire Elon Musk through the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Jordan spoke about the House Judiciary’s report during an interview on the Daily Wire’s podcast, Morning Wire.

The report revealed that FTC Chair Lina Khan had “called for an immediate vote” on a consent decree — which is a process used to “settle claims of wrongdoing and impose specific requirements on a company” — against Twitter just days after Musk bought the social media platform in 2022. However, the FTC didn’t stop there, as they reportedly sent more than 350 demands to Twitter for documents and information just in the first three months after Musk took over the platform.
Jordan further explained that the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which he chairs, had reviewed emails that showed the FTC ramping up the urgency for voting on consent decrees “due to Elon Musk’s purchase of the company.”
3/ A bombshell email from an FTC attorney advisor exposes the true motivation:
"The urgency is due to Elon Musk's purchase of the company this week."
This contradicts Chair Khan's denials that the FTC targeted Elon.

He went on to highlight the “Twitter Files” — where Musk worked with several journalists to uncover and publicize the nefarious activities going on behind the scenes at Twitter, such as collusion with the government to censor conservatives — pointing out that the FTC had directly made demands related to the “Twitter Files” journalists.
“And then once he bought the company, they went full tilt, sending him all kinds of letters saying we need this information, that information,” he added. “They even ask, who are the journalists? You’re talking about First Amendment issues. Who are the journalists you’re talking to relative to the whole ‘Twitter Files’ issue?”
Many assume that the Biden-Harris administration’s obsession with stopping Musk from taking over the platform and the subsequent targeting of the company after the purchase was likely done out of fear of the “Twitter Files” and what information they could contain about the federal government’s collusion with the platform’s previous owners.
The subcommittee’s report alleges that the FTC “weaponized its regulatory authority” to target Musk.
Jordan confirmed this in the interview, stating that Khan has “been after Musk from the get-go” — which he believes is “part of this attack on the First Amendment, where it’s big government, big media, big tech, all working together to stifle American speech.”
“Prior to going to the FTC and becoming chairman, she worked for Jerry Nadler and the Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee,” he added. “So yeah, she’s been after Musk from the get-go.”
“We continue to get information. We’ve sent subpoenas to get information, and we’ll do everything that we can,” Jordan vowed. “And I always say, we don’t take anything off the table when it comes to fulfilling our duty under the Constitution in the legislative branch to do oversight of the executive branch. So we’ll continue to do that and try to get all the information we can for the American people.”
