Donald Trump has been behind Kevin McCarthy from the outset.
He is one of the reasons that McCarthy is the leader in the House today.
During the election cycle, while many of us were calling for new leadership in the House, Trump again supported McCarthy for Speaker.
McCarthy is NOT returning the favor.

McCarthy was recently asked if he will support Donald Trump for president.
Trump has already announced, so this should have been an automatic “yes” for McCarthy.
Instead, he stated, “We haven’t talked about that yet.”
That is about as big a slap in the face to Trump as I have seen yet.
I would imagine it left Trump stomping around the room and feeling a bit betrayed, and it should have.
Someone like myself saying that it is time to move on from Trump is one thing, but McCarthy, who Trump has literally just endorsed, backing off, says quite a bit.
