The movement is not quite large enough yet to remove Senator McConnell (R-KY) from leadership, but it is growing.
People are starting to talk to the media.
And I can guarantee you that once this ball gets rolling, it will pick up momentum.
Time to Go
Anonymous GOP Senators are telling the media that they want to start to talk about McConnell being replaced in leadership.
This after his second freeze-up incident in just a few weeks.
The unnamed source told Politico that GOP senators are starting to talk about calling a special meeting to vote McConnell out.
While it only takes five senators to call the meeting, they would still need the majority to oust McConnell.
They don’t have that yet, but I can tell you this is starting to gain some momentum.
This goes beyond the incidents with the media, as the leader is supposed to be out there drumming up support for candidates.
The GOP wants to take back the Senate in 2024, and does anyone really think McConnell has the stamina to do that now?
I just don’t get this fierce loyalty to him when he has let the party down so badly since 2018.
McConnell has to go.
If the people of Kentucky want to keep him in that seat, that is on them, but there is no reason the rest of us have to suffer with him continuing to lead the party in the Senate.
