We have another food recall you should know about…
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Safety has announced that over 2.5 million pounds of canned meat has been recalled for a packaging malfunction.
Iowa-based company Conagra Brands made the decision after discovering that some cans had the potential to become contaminated.
The canned meat products included its canned Vienna sausage and chicken.
The USDA said in a statement:
“Subsequent investigation by the establishment determined that the cans subject to recall may have been damaged in a manner that is not readily apparent to consumers, which may allow foodborne pathogens to enter the cans.”
The products affected by the recall include those processed between December 12 and January 13 and had been shipped to various stores around the U.S.
The company has since asked consumers to toss or return any of the recalled items.
At this time, no one has reported being affected by the recalled products.
