Report: Trump’s Inner Circle Begins Making Stealthy Power Plays

Members of Donald Trump’s inner circle have begun making a power play, choosing to fight back against the left rather than just complaining about them like most conservative politicians do.

Legal Organization

Former Trump White House policy adviser Stephen Miller is launching a new organization: America First Legal. The group will “help organize Republican attorneys general against perceived executive branch abuses in addition to filing lawsuits of its own, according to six people familiar with the planning,” Politico reports.

“During the Trump administration, we had the ACLU and three or four other advocacy groups consistently working with Democrats to coordinate against our policies. Miller is taking a page out of their book,” said a former member of the Trump administration, who was briefed on Miller’s plans.

Though conservative legal groups already exist, most are focused on one specific subject, like Judicial Watch or the Immigration Reform Institute. Politico notes that instead of fighting for one issue, America First Legal is going to be “broadly focused on administrative law and executive overreach.”

Miller isn’t undertaking this project alone. The former White House policy adviser has brought in Clinton-impeachment lawyer Ken Starr and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, along with others, to provide guidance.

The Bottom Line

Even Politico notes that the objective of this organization is making “Joe Biden’s life miserable.” The far-left news outlet is correct. Miller and his allies want to give the left a taste of its own medicine. Every elected Republican is constantly harassed by left-wing legal organizations and activist groups, while conservatives tend to leave the left alone outside of the forum of a debate or conversation. It’s about time the right started fighting back, and it’s great to see that Miller, Meadows, and Starr are the ones doing it.
