Stefanik Introduces Resolution Condemning Harris’ Failure As Border Czar

Republican Leader Introduces Resolution Condemning Harris’ EPIC Failure

On Tuesday, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) introduced a resolution to condemn Vice President Kamala Harris for her failure as border czar amid her bid to become the Democrat nominee for president following President Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the race.

Harris, who supported decriminalizing illegal immigration and taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens during her failed 2020 presidential campaign, was given the title of “border czar” by Biden in what many believe was an effort to saddle her with an impossible job that would harm her record and prevent her from challenging him in the future.

Since Biden and Harris took office, the situation at the border has become so disastrous that many have moved past calling it a “border crisis” and begun referring to it as an “invasion.” Since January 2021, Border Patrol has encountered roughly 9.7 million illegal aliens, while many more likely entered unnoticed.

“Whereas, since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took office, there have been roughly 2 million known got-aways who evaded the United States Border Patrol [and] whereas this number represents more known got-aways than in the previous decade combined,” Stefanik’s resolution stated.

These illegal aliens have committed numerous crimes against American citizens since entering the country under Harris’ watch, including the murder of nursing student Laken Riley.

“Whereas illegal immigrants with violent criminal histories who have murdered innocent Americans like Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungary, Rachel Morin, and others throughout the United States, pose an existential threat to the safety and security of the American people,” the resolution noted.

The resolution explained that illegal immigration has cost American taxpayers roughly $150 billion annually.

Stefanik also highlighted previous comments from retired U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz — who confirmed in an interview with “60 Minutes” that he had never spoken to either Harris or Biden during his two years in office.

“Whereas former United States Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz stated that during his two years in the position,” read the resolution, citing quotes from Ortiz.

‘‘I’ve never had one conversation with the president or the vice president, for that matter. I was the Chief of the Border Patrol, I commanded 21,000 people. That’s a problem,” he stated.

The resolution also confirmed that this pattern continued, quoting current U.S. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens as stating that Harris has “not spoken with him since he was appointed in July 2023.”

Stefanik concluded the resolution with a strong statement calling out Harris’ poor performance in the role, writing: “Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives strongly condemns the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris’s, failure to secure the United States border.”
