The Eagles just lost one of their most iconic members, Randy Meisner, who has died at 77.

As a founding member of the band in 1971, he made an incredible impact on the world of rock music and will be greatly missed by fans all over the world.

Let’s take a look back at his career with The Eagles and how it came to an end.

Randy Meisner was one of the original members of The Eagles when they formed in 1971.

His contributions to the group were immense as he provided lead vocals for some of their most popular songs such as “Take It To The Limit” which was released in 1975 and remains one of their biggest hits to date.

He was also a skilled musician playing both bass guitar and keyboards during live performances.

As well as having a successful musical career, he also wrote several songs for the band including “Tryin’” which featured on their third album Hotel California in 1976.

Despite his success with The Eagles, Meisner ultimately left the band in 1977 due to creative differences between himself and Don Henley who had become increasingly dominant within the group.

Meisner felt that he could no longer contribute meaningfully to the songwriting process or perform certain high notes while singing live due to feeling unwell during one particular show.

This disagreement led him to decide that it would be best if he left for his own sanity rather than sacrificing either money or mental health – something that resonates strongly today too.

Sadly after leaving The Eagles, Randy went on to suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) which eventually led to his death at 77 years old this week – making his departure date from The Eagles coincide eerily with his age at time of death.

While we can only speculate what might have been had things gone differently between him and Don Henley all those years ago, we do know that Randy left an indelible mark on rock history through his work with The Eagle’s classic albums and unforgettable performances so let us remember him fondly for these accomplishments instead.
