They Always Report Lies…So Police Chief Delivers ‘Brutal Truth’

Police chief becomes righteously angry as he delivers “brutal truth” to savage reporters bent on Anti-cop headlines after a police involved shooting.

Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn, who has retired since this incident, was pushed by a group of reporters for “anti-police” soundbites. The veteran lawman got emotional as he defended the “beat cops.” Those police officers who put their lives on the line every day.

the scene started after a meeting of Milwaukee’s Fire and Police Commission. It was the first meeting after Flynn had fired an officer in the wake of a fatal shooting. The reporters came along with “anti-cop” activists and jammed the civic hall.

“I’ve apologized over and over again,” Flynn told the crowd. “But I’m not blind to the fact that there are a lot of people lining up to take advantage of this tragedy.”

One reporter took a different tactic  after Flynn’s statement and accused the cop of being “disrespectful” because he was on his phone during the proceedings.

“What’s your response to some of the people who thought you were being disrespectful by being on your phone, and not being attentive,” the reporter asked.

“Well, I was on my phone and yes, that’s true,” Flynn began. “I was following developments with a 5-year-old little girl sitting on her dad’s lap who just got shot in the head by a drive-by shooting,” the chief explained. “And if some of the people here gave a good goddamn about the victimization of people in this community by crime, I’d take some of their invectives more seriously,” he declared.

Flynn then accused the media, along with the “anti-police” activists, of being completely obsessed with officer-involved shootings. The Police Chief claimed the Media and activists alike ignore the crimes that go on every day. “Now they know all about the last three people that have been killed by the Milwaukee Police Department over the course of the last several years,” the furious Flynn told the crowd. “But there’s not one of them who can name one of the last three homicide victims we’ve had in this city.”

The reporters’ faces completely changed as the chief’s indignation grew and he continued to lambaste the press on the “greatest racial disparity” the city faced.  According to Flynn, that wasn’t police-involved shootings.

“The greatest racial disparity in the City of Milwaukee is getting shot and killed. Hello. Eighty percent of my homicide victims every year are African-American. Eighty percent of our aggravated assault victims are African-American. Eighty percent of our shooting victims who survive their shooting are African-American,” Flynn stated.

The veteran lawman’s fury continued. He alleged that it wasn’t the police who were putting the community at risk. “Now there’s room for everybody to participate in fixing this Police Department, and I’m not pretending we’re without sin,” Flynn declared. “But this community’s at risk alright, and it’s not because men and women in blue risk their lives protecting it.”

Before Flynn headed to the scene  where a child had been killed he left the crowd with something to think about. “Now I’m leaving here to go to that scene. And I take it personally, OK? We’re going up there and there’s a bunch of cops processing a scene of a dead kid, and they’re the ones who are going to be out there patrolling and stopping suspects that may have guns under the front seats,” Flynn declared. “They’re the ones that are going to take the risks to their lives to try to clean this thing up.”
