Well, Chicago has elected a new mayor.
During the general election, Paul Vallas won but failed to get to the 50 percent threshold.
His double-digit win over Brandon Johnson meant nothing in the run-off race, as progressive Brandon Johnson defeated him by more than two points in the runoff.
So, now Chicago has another uber-progressive in office who had a defund the police agenda.
They picked the one person that could be worse than Lightfoot.
They Will Never Learn
When you have rising crime rates, how do you elect a man that wants do defund your police and continues to promote sanctuary city status for illegal immigrants?
Vallas had the support of the police and Johnson had the support of the corrupt teachers’ union, so Chicago clearly made its choice… they love woke and they love crime.
As noted above, Johnson wants to remain a sanctuary city for illegals.
His website states, “Chicago is a sanctuary city.
“As such, we must always resist attempts to pit communities against each other and extend this sanctuary promise to everyone who needs it in our city — both long-time residents and newcomers alike.”
He also wants to take a “holistic” approach to policing, seeking alternatives to what we could consider a “traditional” police department.
We kind of felt sorry for Chicagoans when Lightfoot was in office, but with this choice, that city clearly deserves whatever it gets.
