Trump is bringing a data protection claim against Steele and Orbis Business Intelligence according to Tim Lowles, his lawyer. He explained that proceedings have been issued on behalf of President Donald J. Trump in relation to breaches of UK Data Protection law caused by inaccuracies in processing data about the president included in the dossier.
Lowles added that Trump’s claim seeks remedies including rectification or erasure of inaccurate data contained within the dossier plus financial compensation for damages incurred from its publication.
A hearing on this matter is scheduled for October 16th with further details yet to be revealed.
This legal action taken by former President Donald Trump marks an important step towards restoring integrity in media coverage regarding public figures after years of misrepresentation caused by false information propagated through “fake news.”
It also serves as an opportunity for him to clear his name after being subjected to incessant harassment over accusations which were proven false following Robert Mueller’s report which stated there was no evidence backing any collusion between Russia and his campaign team during elections.
It will be interesting how other politicians react if their claims are found true when they take similar measures against media outlets who disseminate lies about them without proper verification or research into facts before publishing stories online or airing reports on television networks.
