Trump Prepping Guantanamo Bay For Illegal Alien Detention

President Donald Trump has announced an executive order that will instruct authorities to begin prepping Guantanamo Bay to detain the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens that the administration is concerned may return to the U.S. after deportation.

Trump highlighted the fact that there are several countries that he did not trust to hold these criminal illegal aliens after they are returned home, and thus the administration would prefer to maintain custody of them — but not in the United States where they could potentially do more harm.

The president announced the move during an address from the White House on January 29 during a signing event for the Laken Riley Act — a bipartisan immigration and border security bill that orders the detention of any illegal aliens charged with theft or violent crimes.

“Today, I’m also signing an executive order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay,” Trump explained. “Most people don’t know about it. We have 30,000 beds in Guantanamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people. Some of them are so bad, we don’t even trust the countries to hold them, because we don’t want them coming back so we’re going to send them to Guantanamo. This will double our capacity immediately.”

“That’s a tough place to get out of. Today’s signing brings us one step closer to eradicating migrant crime in our communities once and for all,” he added.

The new executive order states: “I hereby direct the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Homeland Security to take all appropriate actions to expand the Migrant Operations Center at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay to full capacity to provide additional detention space for high-priority criminal aliens unlawfully present in the United States, and to address attendant immigration enforcement needs identified by the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security.”

The order went on to state that it is designed “in order to halt the border invasion, dismantle criminal cartels, and restore national sovereignty.”
