Despite the left’s best efforts to portray Vice President Kamala Harris as a “new” candidate with no baggage, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre admitted on Monday that a Harris presidency would effectively be a continuation of the Biden administration — something most Americans already knew.
During the Monday press briefing, Jean-Pierre was asked about whether there was a “process” where Americans could check Harris’ policy positions “and how it matches or may change, or ways in which she can build on what he’s done” — especially as Harris’ website still does not have any policies listed three weeks after she became the presumptive nominee.
Jean-Pierre responded by confirming that Harris has been “a critical partner” in pushing through President Joe Biden’s agenda — effectively tying Harris to Biden’s failures.
“I can’t speak to an interagency kind of process in doing just that — trying to measure up or line up where they both are,” she responded. “What I can speak to is the last three and a half years — right? — we have less than six months now of this administration — and how much the vice president was a critical partner in getting a lot of the big pieces, historic pieces done.”
The White House press secretary went on to confirm that Harris was responsible for the “heavy lifting” behind pushing through Biden’s radical policies, including the legislation that caused a significant spike in inflation: the so-called American Rescue Plan.
“They’ve been aligned,” Jean-Pierre said. “They’ve been aligned for the last three and a half years. There’s not been any daylight.”
She then noted that she needed to be “super careful” when discussing the Harris campaign’s planned policy roll out, though she did claim that the vice president plans to “build on the unprecedented successes, the historic successes that they’ve had” — suggesting that Harris plans to move Biden’s policies even further to the left.
The clip of Jean-Pierre’s remarks quickly went viral on social media, with users pointing out that the White House had admitted that Harris owns Biden’s failures.
“The horrible economy, border catastrophe, terrible foreign policy, and coverup of Biden’s cognitive decline. Kamala owns all of it,” wrote the Trump War Room account on X.

“Kamala voters, we have some bad news for you: Harris is no different than Biden. White House Press Sec KJP just emphasized that the Harris-Biden administration is perfectly ‘aligned.’ As Vice President, Kamala Harris has cast more deciding votes in the U.S. Senate than anyone in history. Kamala Harris can make whatever promises she wants, but she OWNS this terrible economy. In nearly four years, she has only made thing WORSE. Don’t let the media fool you: Bidenomics is Kamalanomics,” argued independent journalist Kyle Becker.

Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt also responded to the clip, thanking Jean-Pierre “for confirming: there is ‘no daylight’ between Kamala and Joe!”
“Kamala owns the border crisis. Kamala owns inflation. Kamala owns the wars, chaos, and crime over the past 4 years,” she added.
