In a tragic turn of events prominent businessman and well-known supporter of Trump’s Make America Great Again movement, John Rumpel, has revealed that his family was tragically involved in the plane crash and sonic boom incident in Washington D.C.

It was a collection of unfortunate events that led up to the incident which occurred when the aircraft carrying Rumpel’s family trespassed into restricted airspace. Sadly, investigators have confirmed that there were no survivors found in the aftermath of the crash. The Cessna Citation plane went down in Virginia. Investigators believe that the pilot lost consciousness midflight which led to the fatal accident.

The Cessna airplane involved in the crash was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne, Florida. A company owned by John and Barbara Rumpel.

John Rumpel released a statement to The Washington Post about the incident. According to the statement Rumpel’s family, including his daughter, grandchild, and a nanny, were onboard the plane. At this time the cause of the crash is still unknown. In his statement, Rumpel says that he is in contact with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for further information.

The Rumpel family are known supporters of Donald Trump. They have been generous donors to the Former President, their contributions to his campaign amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In 2020, they donated $250,000 to the Trump Victory PAC. Barbara Rumpel has also been a consistent supporter of Republican candidates, which include Herschel Walker, through her donations.

Whatever happened in the Rumpel’s Cessna triggered a swift response from Joint Base Andrews. The military dispatched fighter jets to intercept the private plane over Virginia

The fighter jets, in their haste to catch the unknown operator of the Cessna, caused a sonic boom that resonated across the D.C. area. North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) officials confirmed that F-16 jets were scrambled to engage with the Cessna. However, the pilot remained unresponsive the entire time. The National Transportation Safety Board reported that the plane had shown no response to air traffic control communications either.

The Cessna eventually crashed near the George Washington National Forest after being intercepted at approximately 3:20 p.m.

First responders arrived at the scene shortly before 8 p.m., but no survivors were found.
