Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg just had it handed to him in a courtroom again.
For the second time, Bragg has tried to prosecute an innocent man, and for the second time, he failed.
This time, it is Daniel Penny who is walking free after Bragg put him on trial for the death of Jordan Neely.
Innocent
If you recall, Penny was on the New York subway when Neely started to threaten other passengers.
Neely has a long record, with violence, as well as a history of mental illness.
When straphangers felt threatened, Penny put Neely in a chokehold until authorities could get there, but Neely wound up dying.
Most viewed the death as an accident, more attributable to a failing system of health care than it being to Penny, who was looked at as a Good Samaritan by those on the subway that day.
As expected, Al Sharpton took the opportunity to sow a little hatred, stating, “This kind of behavior was inexcusable 40 years ago when Bernard Goetz opened fire in a subway car, and it remained the case more than a year ago when Daniel Penny took Jordan’s life.”
You just have to love how the man has the ability to take it to the extreme, even when the example he is given is apples to oranges in terms of what took place on the subway that day.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was among those hammering Bragg after Penny walked out of the courtroom a free man.
Cruz stated, “Alvin Bragg is an absolute catastrophe. First, he indicted Donald Trump in a partisan case, and then he indicted Daniel Penny for saving the lives of other subway passengers from a deranged lunatic threatening to kill everyone.
“Penny should sue Bragg for malicious prosecution and hold this rogue Soros prosecutor accountable.”
Whether Penny will sue Bragg remains to be seen, but it does seem pretty clear that the people of New York need to pay more attention to the people they are pulling the handle for in elections.
