Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker, who has become a favorite of conservatives for his strong Christian faith, announced the first political endorsement of his life: Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).
Itis no surprise that Butker, who went viral earlier this year for a heartwarming speech at a Catholic university in support of Christian values and traditional marriage, would support the devout Christian senator — though the endorsement itself was a surprise, as most celebrities are terrified of the ramifications of publicly endorsing a Republican.
The Kansas City Chiefs star announced the endorsement in a fundraising email shared by Hawley on Thursday, which also confirmed that Butker would be appearing at three different campaign stops alongside Hawley.
“This is Harrison Butker-you may know me as a three-time World Champion kicker, but that’s just my day job,” Butker wrote in the email. “At my core I am a husband, a father, and most importantly a Christian who cares about the future of our nation.”
“I want to tell you about my friend Josh Hawley,” the Super Bowl-winning star added. “In a time when our nation is at a crossroads, Senator Hawley stands strong for many of the values that matter most to me and my family.”
“He’s not just a Senator; he’s a devout Christian, a family man, and a fighter for so much we hold dear,” Butker continued. “Josh Hawley is relentless in defending religious rights, fighting for the Constitution, and standing up for the most vulnerable among us—the unborn.”
He went on to highlight Hawley’s “commitment to the pro-life movement” as one of the main reasons that he supports the senator, because Hawley is “the kind of leader who doesn’t back down when it matters most.”
Butker concluded the message by declaring that he is endorsing Hawley to “represent all of us and keep the fight for our faith, family, and freedom alive” — while also calling on others to join him and donate money to help Hawley beat his challenger, Democrat candidate Lucas Kunce.
This is awesome. Proud to have the support of @buttkicker7 https://t.co/oQ7p91c9gV

This endorsement comes after Butker faced outrage from the left for daring to promote traditional values in a commencement address at Benedictine College, a Catholic university in Kansas, where he praised his wife for being a “homemaker,” criticized “Pride Month,” and called out President Joe Biden for pretending to be Catholic while supporting abortion.
“How many of you are sitting here now, about to cross this stage, and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world. But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said during the May 11 speech.
“It cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker,” Butker added.
Two things.
1. Stand with Harrison Butker who spoke up so courageously in a culture that condemns Catholic & conservative values.
2. Share his FULL speech, so the left can’t edit it in a way to fit their agenda & attack Butker.
