2021 will go down in American history as the year that the celebration of our Independence and the foundation of the Republic which has brought freedom and bettered the lives of more people than any other nation in human history was marred with a false message of division and hate, by a United States Congresswoman.
The negative response to Member of Congress Cori Bush‘s (D-MO) highly disturbing tweet was nearly immediate and harsh. Though from her own party, not nearly harsh enough for someone who has viciously defamed and denigrated her nation.
A Member Of Congress Defames The Nation She “Represents”
When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people.
This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.
— Cori Bush (@CoriBush) July 4, 2021
The concepts that the freedoms enjoyed by Americans of every race, creed, and color are reserved merely for “white people” and that “This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free” are foul, repugnant, ignorant, and bigoted. These false, defamatory notions demonstrate most of all that Bush and those leftists proponents of ‘Critical Race Theory’ like her, who see American society as bifurcated and view minorities as somehow less capable of thriving in the most open and free and society with the most social mobility in the history of mankind are truly the most racist among us.

According to Breitbart, it wasn’t enough for Bush to gather the scorn of so many of her fellow Americans, so she doubled down on Independence Day. In another tweet she added her terms for when Black Americans could be considered “free” in her estimation:
“We know what our own freedom looks like,” she continued. “End the slavery permitted under the 13th amendment.”
“End the War on Drugs.”
“End police violence.”
“End health care, housing, and education apartheid,”
“WE are the experts on our own liberation. And we won’t stop until it’s won”:
For the record: The Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution abolished slavery and “involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.” This means that prisoners can still be sentenced to hard labor in the American judicial system which the mal-informed Member of Congress for Missouri seems to believe impacts only Black Americans.
Democrats, Critical Race Theorists, and Cori Bush Need To Read Thomas Sowell
This belief ignores the statistical data which shows that while African Americans are incarcerated at a disproportionate rate, this is due to the fact that they are disproportionally represented in the rate of crime as well. This doesn’t owe to a racial characteristic though, it is far better informed by economic and educational factors as well as the systematic destruction of the black family as pointed out by Thomas Sowell who wrote: “Blame the welfare state, not racism, for poor blacks’ problems”.
Sowell explains,
“The “legacy of slavery” argument is not just an excuse for inexcusable behavior in the ghettos. In a larger sense, it is an evasion of responsibility for the disastrous consequences of the prevailing social vision of our times, and the political policies based on that vision, over the past half century.
Anyone who is serious about evidence need only compare black communities as they evolved in the first 100 years after slavery with black communities as they evolved in the first 50 years after the explosive growth of the welfare state, beginning in the 1960s.
You would be hard-pressed to find as many ghetto riots prior to the 1960s as we have seen just in the past year, much less in the 50 years since a wave of such riots swept across the country in 1965.”
“Most black children were raised in two-parent families prior to the 1960s. But today the great majority of black children are raised in one-parent families.”
“You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization — including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain — without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large.”
Sowell’s analysis is not for the faint of heart, it calls for personal responsibility, individual rights, and moral rectitude. But these aren’t things that get you GenX, Y & Z votes, like all great manipulators and totalitarian states, they need a scapegoat, the same one Democrats have used to get black votes since the 1960s: the white man.
