Ron DeSantis has apparently decided to give in to the Trump camp’s demands that he defend Donald Trump.
My guess is that he figures this is the safe play to not lose MAGA voters in case he defeats Trump in the primary race.
DeSantis put Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg on alert that if they were considering extraditing Trump from Florida, he would be no part of it.
Not Happening
I am not sure this will get Trump’s Twitter guy off DeSantis’ back, but it should sit well with most of Trump’s supporters.
DeSantis stated, “The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head.
“It is un-American.
“The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct.
“Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent.
“Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda.”
This was all for show, as Bragg never made the request.
Trump also announced that he would head back to New York to surrender.
He is also expected to make a statement after the indictment is official and he is released.
