DHS Has ‘Clawed Back’ $59M FEMA Paid To House Illegals

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it had “clawed back” the $59 million that FEMA illegally sent to New York City to house illegal aliens in luxury hotels just one week prior.

The payments were revealed by Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) lead Elon Musk in a post on X on February 10.

“The [DOGE] team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants,” Musk wrote. “Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds.”

The “clawback demand” that Musk mentioned appears to have succeeded, as Fox News reporter Bill Melugin broke the news in an X post on February 12, sharing a statement that he received directly from a DHS spokesperson.

“Secretary Noem has clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels,” the statement read. “There will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people.”

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed this news just a few hours later, where she also revealed that FEMA had been using taxpayer dollars to fund housing for known members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

“I have clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels,” Noem wrote in a post on X. “FEMA was funding the Roosevelt Hotel that serves as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to house Laken Riley’s killer. Mark my words: there will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people.”

This news comes after four FEMA employees were fired for their role in sending the $59 million to fund illegal aliens’ housing in the luxury hotels, including FEMA’s chief financial officer Mary Comans, two program analysts, and a grant supervisor.
