John McCain’s Son Called Out For Shocking Hypocrisy

During a CNN interview, John McCain’s son attacked former President Donald Trump for something that his father had previously done, though much more egregiously.

Jimmy McCain, the youngest son of the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), pushed the far-left’s hoax about Trump’s appearance at Arlington National Cemetery — attacking the Republican nominee for using his trip for campaign purposes. This is a ridiculous stretching of the truth by all accounts, as Trump was allowed to bring a photographer to capture images of the event for posterity and was actually invited to the ceremony by the Gold Star families of servicemembers killed during the Biden-Harris administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were also invited, but refused to show up or even speak to the Gold Star families.

Beyond Jimmy McCain’s lies about Trump was the fact that his father previously used Arlington National Cemetery to film an actual campaign ad in 1999. John McCain faced significant backlash for the ad at the time, with the pushback being so strong that he was forced to remove footage of himself at the cemetery from the campaign ad. The controversial campaign ad featured McCain walking amongst the gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery along with a voiceover highlighting his military service that stated he was “never forgetting those heroes with whom he served.”

Conservative commentator Collin Rugg shared proof of Jimmy McCain’s hypocrisy on X, referencing a 1999 LA Times headline that read “McCain to Remove Arlington Footage From Campaign Ad.”

“Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain will remove footage of Arlington National Cemetery from his campaign’s biographical television ad,” the article read, adding: “The Army said this week that the Arizonan’s campaign did not ask permission to film him at the cemetery. Any request to do so would have been denied because partisan activity is banned at Army installations, the Army said.”

Despite his father’s scandal, Jimmy McCain pretended that Trump taking a few solemn photos during an event he was invited to at Arlington National Cemetery was the most horrific act, telling CNN host Jake Tapper that it was “a violation.”

“It just blows me away,” Jimmy McCain said. “These men and women that are laying in the ground there have no choice” to be or not be in a campaign ad, according to CNN. “I just think that for anyone who’s done a lot of time in their uniform, they just understand that inherently — that it’s not about you there. It’s about these people who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the name of their country.”

“Many of these men and women, who served their country, chose to do something greater than themselves,” he added. “They woke up one morning, they signed on the dotted line, they put their right hand up, and they chose to serve their country. And that’s an experience that Donald Trump has not had. And I think that might be something that he thinks about a lot.”

Jimmy McCain also used the opportunity to reveal that he had changed his political affiliation to Democrat because of his vehement hatred for Trump, noting that he planned to vote for Harris in November — following along with the same playbook as numerous other Never-Trumpers who have let their hatred for Trump become so ingrained that they are willing to vote for a candidate that opposes every supposed “value” or political position they have claimed to hold dear.
