ICYMI – Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib was seen breaking down in tears on the House floor as Republicans voted to remove Democrat “squad” member Ilhan Omar from the House of Foreign Affairs Committee.
Congressional Republicans, led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, voted in agreement of removing Omar from the committee following multiple anti-Semitic comments.
On the other hand, all House Democrats voted against the removal of Omar.
Talib could be heard saying:
“I am so sorry, sis, that our country is failing you today. The GOP is now doing what it is best at, weaponizing hate against a black, beautiful, Muslim woman.”

Some of Omar’s remarks include her stating that “Israel has hypnotized the world” back in 2012 as well as asserting that lawmakers only support Israel due to receiving funding from pro-Israel groups in 2019.
At one point, the Democrat posted a tweet saying “It’s all about the Benjamins baby.”
Omar’s removal was originally introduced by Republican Rep. Max Miller via a resolution that stated:
Omar “has disqualified herself from serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, a panel that is viewed by nations around the world as speaking for Congress on matters of international importance and national security.”
Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was quick to make accusations towards Republicans following Omar’s removal, going so far as to claim Omar was targeted over her race.
“One of the disgusting legacies after 9/11 has been the targeting and racism against Muslim Americans … and incitement of violence against women of color,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
