DeSantis Raises $8.2 MILLION

The idea that there is no interest in the Ron DeSantis campaign just got obliterated.

DeSantis shattered the previous opening 24-hour fundraising record by about 30 percent.

Joe Biden raised more than $6 million in the 24 hours after his announcement, setting a record at the time.

Well, Ron DeSantis just raised $8.2 million, setting a massive new high watermark for campaigns.

Money is Rolling In

The one thing that Donald Trump does not have behind his campaign right now is mega-donors.

Many of them are sitting out or have already gotten behind DeSantis.

Others have stated they are going to sit on the sidelines, let DeSantis and Trump battle it out, then get behind DeSantis if he wins (or if he starts to creep up on Trump during the primary).

DeSantis’ camp was ecstatic with the number, stating, “This historic fundraising haul shows that grassroots Republicans across the country are uniting behind Governor DeSantis’ vision for our Great American Comeback.”

Dan Eberhart, a prominent Republican donor and bundler, added, “That’s an enormous haul for the first 24 hours and shows that there are thousands of donors big and small behind the governor.”

DeSantis really hurt himself by not getting into this race sooner.

At one point, he was neck-and-neck with Trump, but he is now anywhere from 25-30 points behind, in a much more crowded field, which benefits Trump.

The only way DeSantis wins this is to get other candidates behind him and have them drop out before they get to South Carolina.

If this race is still crowded at that point, it is game over and Trump will get the nod.
