My friends, it would appear that this game has officially started.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is finally engaging Trump.
This is going to make for one ugly battle now that they are both throwing shots.
Plan of Attack
My opinion, for whatever it is worth, is that DeSantis is going to center on COVID to try to hurt Trump.
Not only that, but DeSantis seems as though he will use this to show that Trump was allowing other people to call the shots in his administration.
To that point, DeSantis stated, “A leader must have the confidence to stand all alone if need be.
“And so for us, as I got into office, COVID presented that situation for us because we were in a situation – the third-largest state in the country – one of the highest percentage of elderly, economy based on tourism, which we needed to travel to continue.
“So, this situation was an existential threat to our state, but I made the judgment.
“Leaders take the bull by the horns and make the decisions for themselves.
“They don’t subcontract out their leadership to health bureaucrats like Dr. Fauci.”
Will that shake Trump’s base?
Absolutely not because they are unflappable.
This will, however, get the attention of independents and moderates, which could drive some GOP registration for the primary.
The primary is so far off, it would be idiotic to make a prediction, but I will say this… regardless of who wins, this will not be a route by either of them.
