Following the completion of his speech while in Greensboro, North Carolina, Joe Biden was observed turning to his side to offer a handshake to absolutely no one.
Videos of the incident were posted online and have immediately gone viral. The 79-year-old president was holding a speech at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University when the incident occurred.
After finishing his speech Biden appeared lost on the stage as he bizarrely turned his back to the audience.
Right before his strange handshake incident, Biden had made claims during his speech that he previously served as a ‘full professor’ at the University of Pennsylvania despite never having taught a class there. This odd statement was of course picked up by many social media users and his opponents from the Republican party, who have continued to express doubt in Biden’s cognitive abilities presently and in the future.

Harmeet Dhillon, former vice chairwoman of the California Republican Party, reacted to the incident by questioning the absence of the White House and Biden family handlers, ‘who are responsible for making him look good’. She added in her tweet that this was bizarre ‘unless they want him to look like a Dementia patient’.

This incident only further cements Biden’s popularity ratings, as they continue to fall to record lows. Recent polls discovered that his popularity is at its lowest point since he assumed office.

The Telegraph reported additional information on his popularity rating:
Joe Biden’s popularity plummeted to the joint lowest level of his presidency as a poll showed only 33 per cent of Americans approve of his job performance.
The figure in a Quinnipiac poll matched Mr Biden’s previous nadir in the same poll in January. In the latest findings, only 39 per cent said they approved of the US President’s handling of the Ukraine crisis, with 48 per cent disapproving.
It showed that 52 per cent of Americans believed the US should be doing more to help Ukraine fight Russia.
93% of Trump’s press coverage was negative. So…much of the anger against him was media manufactured.
But the media covers up Biden’s many failures/lies. With all the help, only 33% of Americans approve of him.

Notably, Biden had also previously mistakenly stated that First Lady Jill Biden was Obama’s vice president, a position which he himself held in the past. This occurrence took place during a ceremony for commissioning Navy’s newest unclear submarine.
