It would appear that the Trump legal team has sent Judge Engoron over the edge.
Engoron lost it during questioning by the Trump legal team.
According to reports, he slammed his fists down on the desk and more or less told them to back off a witness.
Getting to the Truth
I have always stated that the judges in these cases were going to be a problem, especially in this case.
This case will be decided by Engoron, not a jury, and he has already issued a summary judgment against Trump before the defense ever opened its mouth.
Now I don’t blame Trump’s legal team for going after witnesses here, especially after we found out the fraud case is based on property assessments like the $18 million tag stuck on Mar-a-Lago.
Donald Bender, a partner at accounting firm Mazars USA, was on the stand getting questioned about Trump’s finances.
The man proceeded to tell Trump’s defense team that he did not remember about 90 times during the questioning.
Engoron finally had enough, screaming at Trump’s attorneys that it was “enough” and that Bender was not the man on trial here.
Trump’s attorney responded, “We need to be allowed to parse the evidence — we didn’t bring this case.”
Attorney Alina Habba added, “We haven’t got one answer from him … he has no memory as we sit here.”
Engoron then accused Trump’s attorneys of playing up to the media, but oddly enough, he did this after a prosecutor could be heard saying, “There’s no jury. I don’t know who we’re performing for.”
I think it is a fairly safe assumption here that Trump will be found guilty, and he will have to wait until the appeals process plays out to get a fair shake in this trial.
