Med Student Kychelle Del Rosario ‘Abused’ Patient for Laughing at ‘Pronoun Pin’

Med Student Intentionally Assaulted Patient, Wait Until You Learn Why

A med student at Wake Forest School of Medicine implied in a tweet on March 29th that she intentionally stuck a patient with a needle an extra time after the patient made a joke about her “pronoun pin.”

Fourth-year med student Kychelle Del Rosario sent out a tweet that she “was doing a blood draw” on a patient who saw her “pronoun pin,” laughed, and said, “She/Her? Well, of course it is! What other pronouns even are there? It?”

“I missed his vein so he had to get stuck twice,” Del Rosario tweeted.

Her tweet was initially shared by the Twitter account Libs of Tik Tok, and quickly went viral, with many people concerned about the implications.

Del Rosario quickly deleted her Twitter account after Libs of Tik Tok shared her tweet, though an archived version is still available.

After another Twitter user brought Del Rosario’s tweet to the attention of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, the school sent out a message that they were going to take action.

“Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This student’s tweet does not reflect how Wake Forest University School of Medicine treats patients and provides patient care. We are taking measures to address this with the student,” the school tweeted in response.

Several people responded to the school’s tweet with concern.

“‘Address this with the student’? Call the police. That’s an admission of assault and battery,” wrote attorney Omar Qudrat.

“What specific measures are you taking ? I will be calling the dean tomorrow morning. This student must be kicked out !” said Fadde Mikhail, Republican candidate for Congress in Ventura County, California.

“She committed ASSAULT. This woman should be expelled, and seek another career, one that doesn’t involve interaction with others. Anything less is unacceptable,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Literally against the Hippocratic Oath,” another replied.

“You also need an external audit and intervention to discover why your medical students feel this is acceptable,” another Twitter user said.

Del Rosario has advocated for left-wing causes such as transgender restrooms and Black Lives Matter, Fox News reported.
